Auction winners have 5 days to pay online and 10 days to pick-up their items from the time of auction closing date & time. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF ITEM AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS. ***
The winning bidder must provide their own labor and materials to remove the item(s) from the police department. WE DO NOT PAY TO SHIP ITEMS. Bidders may contact a local shipping company to pick up, package and ship their item(s).
Shipping of Auction Items:
Upon verified payment to Public Surplus for any item won, the successful bidder may arrange for shipment of this item through a local UPS Store. The UPS stores can be reached at:

The City of Sugar Land will not arrange, contact, coordinate, or drop off any auction items for shipment with UPS. In addition, The City of Sugar Land will not be responsible for boxes, packing, or packing material for any auction items. This must be coordinated between the successful bidder and UPS. No boxing or packing of auction items shall occur when the items are being picked up.
A paid receipt from Public Surplus MUST accompany any items being picked up. Arrangements for pickup of any items must be done in accordance with the directions as specified in the auction instructions.
NO payments can be made at the time of pick up. Packing and shipping costs cannot be paid in advance on any Public Surplus invoice or to Public Surplus directly. All payments for said services shall be coordinated between the successful bidder and UPS. The City of Sugar Land assumes no responsibility for any auction items once they have been picked up by UPS or any other individual.

Public Processing handles all payments for City of Sugar Land. Payment for an awarded item must be received within 5 business days of close of auction.
City of Sugar Land sales tax of 8.25% will be added to all purchases made where applicable. The buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.
Buyers Premium: A 10% Buyer Premium shall be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction to collect payment.
Bid Deposits. City of Sugar Land may require bid deposits in order to ensure fairness and equity to all buyers as a way to decrease default bidding. The deposit will be reversed if no default occurs or the bidder does not win the auction. Public Surplus will collect and retain the deposit if there is a default by the winning bidder.
