Vehicle Removal, Loading, & On-Site Restrictions

· By Appointment Only: All pickups must be scheduled in advance.

· Loading & Personnel: Buyers must supply all personnel, tools, and equipment to remove and load items. There are no loading docks at this location.

· Forklift Exception: For heavy equipment located at 10 Commercial Place, the City’s forklift may potentially be used for loading, provided it is available and operational at the time of pickup. Forklift availability is not guaranteed.

· On-Site Maintenance Policy: No maintenance or repair work of any type is permitted on City property, with the exception of tire replacement for transport. Non-running vehicles must be towed off-site.

Shipping & Courier Policy

· No Shipping: The City of Schertz does not ship items or maintain a list of preferred vehicle shipping vendors.

· Courier Coordination: Buyers are entirely responsible for coordinating and paying for third-party couriers to transport vehicles.

· Timeline Flexibility: If you are utilizing a vehicle shipping company, the City will make reasonable timeline accommodations to allow for courier coordination.

Third-Party Pickups

If a third party or courier is picking up the asset on your behalf, you must provide prior authorization. Email Purchasing@Schertz.com with:

1. Written consent authorizing the specific third party to remove the items.

2. A photocopy of the winning bidder’s identification.

Important: The individual or courier driver picking up the item must present valid identification upon arrival to confirm they are the authorized recipient.

Vehicle Titles & Documentation

· Title Transfer: The winning bidder is responsible for all costs associated with plates and title transfer. The current title is in the City’s name.

· Processing: All title documents will be signed and completed at the Purchasing Office at the time of pickup. Vehicles will not be released without the title document being filled out.

· Buyer Requirements: The buyer must provide the exact name and address they want applied to the title.

· Plates & Records: License plates have been removed and temporary tags will not be provided. Limited vehicle maintenance records will be provided upon request, as available.

Condition of Items (Sold "As Is")

· Unknown Status & Potential Damage: Vehicles may have body or interior damage not clearly visible in pictures. There is no guarantee that all parts are available. The actual working status of individual items is unknown and reported conditions may have changed since inspection.

· No Warranties: All items are sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with no warranties implied or expressed. NO OTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE.

· Preview Recommended: While the City makes every effort to accurately describe asset conditions, it cannot guarantee vehicles against unknown issues. Item preview is highly recommended; bidding without previewing the asset is strongly discouraged.

Acceptable forms of payment are: Wire Transfer or Credit Card.
NO CASH, CHECKS, OR MONEY ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED!

Payment for an awarded item must be received within five (5) business days after notice of award.


City of Schertz may charge sales tax. The tax rate will be calculated at the time of bidding. When sales tax is included, the buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.

A Buyers Premium of 8.5% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.

All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.

The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.

The successful bidder will be responsible for packing, and/or loading any item(s) at pick-up, if necessary.
