Payments must be made directly to Public Surplus by credit card, (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) for up to $4000 and wire transfers will be accepted for payment over $4000. The City does not accept cash payments.
5% Buyers Premium: This is added to the successful bid and is payable by the bidder. It represents the cost charged for sale of property by Public Auction.
Buyers have 5 business days to make payment for auction items and 5 business days from date of payment to remove items from the City of Newport News.
Bidders must reference the auction description for pick-up times/days. Days and hours vary by location.
The City of Newport News doesn't ship any surplus items.
