The responsibility to determine the condition of the property rests with the prospective buyer. Prospective buyers are encouraged to inspect the property prior to bidding, and to place bids based solely on their personal inspection and evaluation. Please call 337-291-8264 to schedule a date and time for inspection. Inspections will be by appointment only.
Winning bidder must make an appointment for pick up during City business hours: Monday thru Friday from 8:00am-2:00pm.
While our office is open from 8:00-5:00, the facility that this excavator is at closes at 3:00pm.
***SHIPPING AND HANDLING*** Lafayette Consolidated Government is NOT responsible for preparing, packaging, or shipping any items that we sell. BIDDER is responsible for this. The winning bidder is responsible for supplying proper manpower, equipment (i.e. dolly, pallet jack, forklift, etc.), and vehicles (truck size/type) for pickup. No equipment or manpower will be supplied by LCG. The winning bidder is responsible for ALL shipping costs.
This excavator was removed from service in August 2016 due to the massive flood that occurred at that time. This excavator was submerged at least halfway in water during this flood. Because of this, the excavator does not run. Maintenance records are available and are attached below. Some of them might be hard to read in certain areas but these are the only copies we have of the paper forms. See photos for further details. The current hours on the unit are unknown.

Payment for an awarded item must be received within five (5) business days after notice of award.
Lafayette Consolidated Government will charge a sales tax of 9%. The tax rate will be calculated at the time of bidding.
Buyers Premium:ÃÂÃÂ A Buyers Premium of 10% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium if applicable will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Public Processing will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.
The successful bidder will be responsible for removal or pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Removal must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award of the winning bid. The notice of award, the payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at the time of pick-up, or the Lafayette Consolidated Government will not release the item to you.
Pick-up hours by appointment only. The successful bidder will be responsible for the packing, loading and/or transporting of any item(s), if necessary.
