Description
***NOTE:  THIS SALE IS FOR THE WOOD FRAME HOME ONLY, WHICH IS TO BE MOVED!!!!  THE LAND LOCATED AT 1010 MUDD AVENUE, LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA, 70501 IS EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED.***

Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government (LCG) is selling the 1,375 square foot wood frame house located at 1010 Mudd Avenue, Lafayette, Louisiana.  The single family wood frame home is between 40 to 50 years old.  It contains 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. 

The home is being sold by LCG WITHOUT warranty of title, in an "AS IS" condition without expressed, or implied, or statutory warranty against vices and defects therein whether obvious or latent, known or unknown.  By placing a bid, the purchaser agrees to acquire the wood frame house WITHOUT warranty of title and expressly waives any implied or statutory warranties growing out of or connected with any vices and defects in the wood frame house, to be sold herein, whether obvious or latent, known or unknown, and particularly for any claim or cause of action for redhibition pursuant to Louisiana Civil Code Articles 2520 et seq., or for diminution of purchase price pursuant to Louisiana Civil Code Articles 2541 et seq.  Said condition WITHOUT warranty of title and waiver shall be included in any act of sale of the wood frame house.

The successful bidder shall be responsible for all closing and moving costs associated with the sale and relocation of the wood frame house.  The successful bidder shall be responsible for all risk and liability associated with the relocation of the wood frame house and shall be required, in writing, to assume all such risk and liability at the time of closing.  The moving company shall provide LCG with an insurance certificate prior to the actual move.  A sample insurance certificate showing the necessary wording and limits is attached for your reference.

Please note that disconnection of all water, sewer, and electrical hookups will be the responsibility of the buyer and the moving company.  Also, there are no tires or axles under this home.

All structures are to be removed from the property as well as all debris associated with the move.  The property must be clear of all debris.  The successful bidder will have 30 days from the closing date to remove the home.  The closing will be scheduled after payment is received by Public Surplus.

***The successful bidder will pay Public Surplus directly.  Please note that there will be an 8 1/2% buyers premium that will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium if applicable will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.  Once the payment is finalized, then the closing will be scheduled.

Removal must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award of the winning bid. The notice of award, the payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at the time of pick-up, or the Lafayette Consolidated Government will not release the item to you.

Pick-up hours by appointment only. The successful bidder will be responsible for the packing, loading and/or transporting of any item(s), if necessary.
