Trailer will need to be towed

The MHU-110/M is a 10-wheeled, heavy-duty munitions handling trailer used by the U.S. military to transport, store, and load air-to-ground and air-to-air munitions. Engineered for mobility and longevity, the trailer features a maximum payload capacity of 15,000 lbs and remains a standard piece of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) at flight lines globally.

Core Specifications & Features
  • Payload Capacity: 15,000 pounds
  • Design & Structure: 10-wheeled flatbed, originally developed for the U.S. Air Force
  • Munitions Compatibility: Highly versatile; accommodates multiple ordnance types using a variety of specific adapters, cradles, and chocks
  • Mobility: Equipped with a lightweight tow bar and approved for towing at safe speeds on paved and gravel surfaces
  • Service Life: Exceeds 20 years
Manufacturer & Modernization

The original prototype development of the MHU-110 began in the late 1960s to meet heavy transport needs. Today, The PDI Group (also known as Prototype Development Inc.) manufactures the modern iterations of this trailer. PDI has held multiple contracts to produce and modernize these systems—such as the MHU-110V2—and to supply them for both the U.S. military and foreign military sales.

Recent advancements by PDI include engineering support and successful load testing (e.g., 9,000 lbs rail load tests) to ensure fabrication and welding compliance. Additionally, Department of Defense maintenance squadrons routinely conduct extensive overhauls of legacy MHU-110s, which involve replacing brake lines, conducting structural weld inspections, and refreshing axles to extend the fleet's service life.
