Building Removal Bid Specifications

Project description: Becker County is accepting bids for the sale and removal of a kit-built log cabin located at 28992 County Highway 34, Callaway, MN 56521. This is for the building only, the land is not part of the sale.  The log cabin is approximately 1414 square feet, built in 1994. All above ground building materials and debris must be removed from site before project completion on October 16th, 2026, unless authorized by project manager. Bid preference will be given to bidders who can complete project before the project deadline of October 16th, 2026.  

Pickup location listed below is the office location selling the building, not the actual location where the building is located.  Pickup location will be the at 28992 County Highway 34 address once the sale is approved.

Full payment must be received at time of bid award/acceptance and before any project work has starts. This cabin is for sale and must be removed from the property; Becker County will not accept any bids at the Counties’ expense.

All bidders will be required to provide Becker County with liability insurance form to the satisfaction of Becker County when submitting bids. Quotes must be sealed by mail or sealed when delivered.

Electronic proposals/bids are not acceptable, except through Public Surplus website.

*SUCCESSFUL BIDDER IS RESPONSIBLE TO PROTECT THEIR PROPERTY FROM ANY LIABILITY, DAMAGES, VANDALISM, OR DESTRUCTION. BECKER COUNTY IS NOT HELD LIABLE FOR THE BUILDING OR BUILDING MATERIALS AFTER THE BID PROPOSAL IS ACCEPTED.

BECKER COUNTY WILL REVIEW AND EVALUATE ALL BIDS BEFORE SELECTING A SUCESSFUL BIDDER.

BECKER COUNTY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT OR REJECT ANY OR ALL BIDS.

Payment for an awarded item must be received within five (5) business days after notice of award.


Becker County Sheriff's Office may charge sales tax. The tax rate will be calculated at the time of bidding. When sales tax is included, the buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.

A Buyers Premium of 10% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.

All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.

The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.

The successful bidder will be responsible for packing, and/or loading any item(s) at pick-up, if necessary.
