FAIR
1986 Ford Fire Engine. Built by General Safety in 1986, refurbished in Osceola Wisc. by Custom Fire.
Truck has 102,865 miles on it.
We purchased the truck from a metro MN department and used it as a rural truck for approximately 12 years before aging it out. The 6V92 engine with Jake brake and Allison trans both work as intended and are reliable. Engine does drip oil from several different areas. The Waterous 1500 GPM pump is good/functional however struggles to pass a vacuum test due to failing seals around the pump, limiting its ability to hold a prime. Pump trans engages fine with its air switch once pumped up.
Truck has a few ground ladders on it, good batteries, some working emergency lights and engine will start with no issues. Has an on-board generator that runs on the engine accessory belt. Runs and drives fine. Air won't hold overnight but will easily pump up, release the brakes and function. Brakes are all working, parking brake holds and releases normally. Deck gun works good, rear and side suctions work best when pressure fed as the truck struggles to draft with low vacuum. Water tank holds approx. 300 gallons and does not drip on the floor.
Hose bed holds pre-connects of 1 1/2 and 2 1/2, as well as LDH on the top bed.
If interested in a site visit we can easily accommodate. The truck is parked in a locked outdoor parking lot, drained of all water.
