Pick-ups are by appointment only and are subject to availability.
Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please call (563) 328-4136 to schedule an appointment.
We strongly recommend that all bidders view and inspect auction items before placing a bid. We are not responsible for any undiscovered, undisclosed, or unknown issues with vehicles or other auction items.
Notice Regarding Item Loading Assistance:
Please note that Scott County does NOT provide loading assistance for items won through Public Surplus auctions. This policy applies without exception. Bidders are solely responsible for arranging their own loading and transportation of purchased items. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Required Documentation & Pick-Up Location:
All required documentation to release an item to a buyer (Bill of Sale, Title, DMV forms, etc.) is completed and available at:

Items are available for pick-up only after the required documentation is in the possession of the buyer or the buyer’s authorized representative.

Vehicle Removal Deadline:
Buyers must remove auction item from the agency’s premises within ten (10) business days of notification by Public Surplus that payment has been received.
If item is not picked up after ten (10) business days and no attempt has been made to contact the seller, the items will be reposted for auction, and no refund will be issued.
We understand that circumstances may arise that make timely pick-up difficult. If the buyer maintains communication with Scott County Secondary Roads and makes alternate arrangements (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays, 7:00 a.m.– 3:30 p.m.), limited leniency may be granted.
The Notice of Award, payment receipt, and valid personal identification must be presented at the time of pick-up.
Payment Confirmation Required:
Do not make arrangements to pick up the unit until you receive confirmation of payment from Public Surplus. The unit will not be released until payment confirmation has been received.
Scheduling Appointments:
Please contact us by email or phone to schedule your appointment. Appointments will be confirmed with auction winners.
If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible.

PayMac handles all payments for Scott County.
Acceptable forms of payment are: Wire Transfer or Credit Card.
NO CASH, CHECKS, OR MONEY ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
Payment for an awarded item must be received within 5 business days of close of auction.
Buyers Premium: A Buyers Premium of 10% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium if applicable will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.
All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email. Buyer must remove auction item(s) from said agencies premises within 5 business days (10 business days for vehicles) of notification by Public Surplus of receipt of payment. The payment receipt, "Notice of Award" and a copy of a valid drivers license and if necessary a notarized authorization letter must be presented at the time of pick up or the said agency will not release the item to you.
Bid Deposits: Scott County may require bid deposits to ensure fairness and equity to all buyers as a way to decrease default bidders.
