This 2003 Sutphen Monarch pumper is being listed for sale by the Shelby Township Fire Department. The truck was purchased new by Shelby Township, and it currently has 106,000 miles on the odometer with 9,000 running hours on the Cat C13 engine. The truck has an Allison automatic transmission and a Waterous 1,500 GPM pump. There is a 500-gallon water tank and a 30-gallon foam tank. The truck was originally built to be a CAFS foam truck, but it has since been converted to a direct injection foam system. The truck has LED Whelen warning lights, an electronic siren, a Federal Q mechanical siren, and air horns. Ground ladders and pike poles are included in the truck sale. Also included is a set of gas-powered Hurst extrication tools featuring spreaders, cutters, ram, and 100 ft hose reels. The truck runs, drives, stops, and pumps. Its most recent pump test was in July of 2025. There is rust on the frame and frame spreading in the dual frame rail area, as seen in the included pictures. Overall, the truck functions as it should, but there are small issues as you would expect to see on any 23-year-old vehicle. The truck is being sold as is, with no warranty. The truck is available for inspection in Shelby Township, Michigan prior to bidding. Payment for an awarded item must be received within five (5) business days after notice of award.
Shelby Township may charge sales tax. The tax rate will be calculated at the time of bidding. When sales tax is included, the buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.
A Buyers Premium of 10.5% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.
All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.
The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.

The successful bidder will be responsible for packing, and/or loading any item(s) at pick-up, if necessary.
