The Township of Spring, in Berks County PA is listing for sale a 2002 Freightliner FL80 Dump Truck with plow and salt spreader. "AS IS". Vehicle was last in service for our Public Works Department through March 2026, Vehicle was replaced with a newer model and was retired. Has been sitting since and needs TLC and some work. Ran like a workhorse prior to not using anymore. Vehicle fires up and runs well, needs updated inspection to be street worthy. Perfect project vehicle for a mechanic to work with/ a farmer/ larger property or use for parts. Being sold "AS IS" and will need inspection.

Equipped with a Cummins ISC 315HP engine and 6 speed Allison Transmission with 46,839 miles.   Comes with a Gledhill snowplow, salt spreader and On-spot system for seasonal traction.  

Exterior: Some rusting spots for age, vehicle is in fairly decent shape, still runs like a war horse. Does need some cosmetics and TLC from sitting out in the element.
 
Inspections of the vehicle are both welcome and encouraged before bidding. Vehicle will be sitting behind our Township Sewer Plant Building at 1004 Reedy Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. 

Township Supervisors will consider the highest bid and will award at their regularly scheduled Supervisor meeting on July 27th, 2026 at 7pm. 

Payment in full must be made to Public Surplus. All taxes, title and transfer fees are the buyer's responsibility. Also, delivery or pickup of the vehicle is the buyer's responsibility. Bids that are blocked by two or more agencies may be cancelled. Please limit to questions only, no editorial comments, findings or opinions will be allowed.

Be advised that this item have been previously used and may contain defects. Be also advised that the buyer is solely responsible for ALL loading, shipping, transporting, coordinating payments and pickups with our Municipality within the proper time frame, no exceptions, terms and conditions are strictly enforced. Please bring sufficient equipment, tools and manpower to assist with your removal of your asset. Our Municipality does not assist with any loading of any form. In the event of a third party (include in email a copy of your ID) giving your consent and authorization to allow the Third party to remove your items from the premises on your behalf. Township of Spring may charge sales tax. The tax rate will be calculated at the time of bidding. When sales tax is included, the buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.

A Buyers Premium of 10.5% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.

All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.

The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.
