Condition: SEE DESCRIPTION
NOTE: WATER METERS – BRASS (USED) Various sizes; decommissioned in-line domestic water meters. Total count by meter type is not available. Meters may contain some non-brass components. Inventory consists of meters removed through scheduled replacement programs and defective-unit replacements.
 
Estimated Weight: Approximately 159,000 lbs.

The total weight is estimated at approximately 159,000 lbs. Final sale price will be based on the actual certified weight removed. If the final weight is more or less than 159,000 lbs., the sale price will be adjusted according to the price-per-pound calculation

If the final weight of materials exceeds the auctioned weight, the bidder will be required to submit an email confirming their acceptance of the overage. This email will also serve as the bidder’s acknowledgment and commitment to submit payment for any approved overages.
 
Overage Responsibility:

The successful bidder expressly agrees to pay for any overage, excess material, or additional debris removed beyond the estimated quantity. Payment for all overage is mandatory and not subject to dispute. Submission of a bid constitutes the bidder’s acknowledgment and acceptance of this requirement.

Logistics & Removal Instructions

• The winning bidder’s transport vehicle will be escorted to the City truck scale located at:
10101 S. Stony Island, Chicago, IL

• The vehicle will be weighed empty (tare weight) prior to loading.
• After loading the brass meters, the vehicle will return to the same scale for the final certified loaded weight.
• The bidder will receive copies of all scale and weight tickets.

As a courtesy only, Department of Water Management (DWM) personnel may assist the winning bidder with loading brass meters onto their truck(s).
All loading assistance is voluntary and provided at the bidder’s sole risk. The City of Chicago and the Department of Water Management assume no responsibility or liability for any damage to vehicles, equipment, or materials, or for personal injury during loading activities.

The winning bidder is solely responsible for securing, transporting, and removing all materials from the site.

Payment Terms:
Full payment required within five (5) business days of the auction end date.
